Golden Arrows will aim to take down Kaizer Chiefs when the teams meet in an Absa Premiership match at Princess Magogo Stadium on 1 December 2018, kick-off at 18h00.
Arrows suffered their fourth defeat of the league season when they were beaten 2-1 at home by Baroka FC on November 10. The Durban side claimed an early lead, but ended up on the losing side, and have now won just once in their last 11 league games.
Abafana Bes’thende have claimed just five points from six home matches this season. Their one and only victory as hosts saw them defeat Black Leopards 1-0 in early October.
Chiefs recorded their sixth draw of the season when they were held 0-0 at home by Chippa United on November 10. The Soweto giants have won just once in their last five league outings.
The Amakhosi have claimed 10 points from seven away matches this season, with their last result on the road a 2-1 loss to Orlando Pirates in late October.
In head-to-head stats, Chiefs and Arrows have met in 34 league matches since 2000/01. The Amakhosi have claimed 18 wins compared to seven for Abafana Bes’thende, while nine matches have been drawn. The Durban side has won four of their 17 home league matches in the rivalry, suffering eight defeats in the process.
Last season Arrows took four points off Chiefs in the teams’ two league meetings, drawing 0-0 in Soweto before claiming a 3-1 home win in the return. The result broke a 10-game winless streak against the Amakhosi in the league.
