Highlands Park will look to end Cape Town City’s winning streak in the Absa Premiership when the teams meet at Makhulong Stadium on 1 December 2018, kick-off at 15h30.
Highlands suffered a second defeat from their last three matches when they were beaten 2-1 at home by AmaZulu on November 27. The Tembisa-based side has won just once in their last six league outings.
The Lions of the North have claimed eight points from five home matches this season. Their reverse at the hands of Usuthu was their first home defeat in 2018/19.
City picked up a third successive league win when they defeated Polokwane City 2-1 away on November 27, thanks to goals from Ayanda Patosi and Siphelele Mthembu.
The Citizens have claimed six points from five away matches this season. Their triumph in the Limpopo province in midweek was their first three-pointer on the road in 2018/19.
In head-to-head stats, Highlands and City have met in just two previous league matches. Both encounters took place in the 2016/17 season, with the Cape side picking up four points thanks to a 1-1 draw in Tembisa and a 3-0 home win in the ‘Mother City’.
