Kaizer Chiefs have lost yet again after going down 2-1 to Golden Arrows in the Absa Premiership on Saturday night.
The loss is Chiefs’ second in a row on the local stage while Arrows ended a run of four games without a win.
Chiefs started the better of the two teams with the first shot on goal in the sixth minute when Khama Billiat found some space on the edge of the box, but the Amakhosi attacker fired inches over the target.
Arrows began to found their footing in the game after the tenth minute and were rewarded for their efforts in the 25th minute when the referee awarded a penalty after Erick Mathoho brought down Lerato Lamola down inside the box.
Limbikani Mzava stepped up for the home side and fired Arrows into the lead from the penalty spot in the 27th minute, 1-0.
A couple of minutes later Chiefs conceded a second penalty when Teenage Hadebe brought Siboniso Conco down inside the box.
Mazava stepped up once more and converted from the penalty spot for a second time just after the hour mark, 2-0.
Chiefs tried to find their way back into the game before the half time break, but were unable to pull a goal back as the Amakhosi entered the break trailing by two goals.
Ten minutes into the second half Arrows nearly found their third goal when Danny Venter drove into the box, but saw his close range effort brilliantly saved by Itumeleng Khune.
On the hour mark Chiefs did manage to pull a goal back after Leonardo Castro was quickest to pounce on a loose ball inside the box and fire home from a couple of yards out, 2-1.
The Amakhosi continued to press forward after finding their first goal and they dominated the possession stakes, but their decision making in the final third was poor and clear-cut chances in front of goal were few and far between.
Despite leading the game ended on a rather sour note for the home side when Musa Bilankulu was given his marching orders after receiving his second yellow card in the 90th minute.
In the end Arrows were able to hold onto the lead and picked up the three points.
