Chippa United have officially sacked Eric Tinkler as head coach of the club, following a 1-0 defeat to AmaZulu in the Absa Premiership this past weekend.
The former Bafana Bafana international is the second coach fired by the Port Elizabeth-based club this season, having also shown Orlando Pirates legend Dan Malesela the door in August.
The Chilli Boys have since announced that former Black Leopards coach Joel Masutha has been appointed as interim coach at the club, following Tinkler's swift departure.
Defeat to Usuthu was Chippa's sixth of the league season and the result consequantly saw the club slip to 15th place on the log standings after 12 rounds of fixtures.
Masutha parted company with Lidoda Duvha last month following a string of poor results. In fact, the only club that sit below Chippa on the log standings are Leopards who lost at home to Bidvest Wits this past weekend.
Next up for Chippa is a match away to Cape Town City next week.
Joel Masutha, who parted ways with Leopards last month, will take over on interim basis.
