Liverpool head coach Jurgen Klopp admits Mohamed Salah could've scored more goals this season.

The Egypt international has yet to reach the lofty heights of last season, having scored 44 goals for the Reds in his maiden campaign at Anfield, but Klopp isn't worried by the attacker's slight dip in form.

Despite his critics, the 26-year-old has netted nine goals for the Merseyside club across all competitions this season. Salah, though, had scored 15 times at this stage last season on his way to being named the PFA Player of the Year.

“I don’t have to repeat that,” Klopp said as quoted by The Mirror. “How people judge it, you or whoever, I have no influence on. That’s how it is. It’s a free world and we can judge things however.

“It’s all good. I think he has scored seven so far in the league. Who has scored most? [Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang]? And he scored twice in the last game. So nobody is 15 goals away from him.

Klopp continued: "The season is like it is, and we all have to start new. You can take nothing for granted and think things will be easy.

“He could have scored more with the chances he’s had, but there is nothing else to say. Just try and get yourself ready for the next game, try to do your best and then after the season you will get judged, not during the season.

“You can do that, but for us that’s not really important.”
