Ghana Football Association (GFA)'s Normalization Committee has congratulated Ghana under-17 captain, Mukarama Abdulai.
The 16-year-old striker scooped the Golden Boot after finishing as top scorer at the recent 2018 FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup held in Uruguay.
Abdulai was instrumental in helping Ghana reach the knockout stages where they were defeated by Mexico in the quarter-finals.
The Normalization Committee has since released the following statement:
"Your penchant for goals saw you score seven goals in four matches. You gallantly led the Black Maidens to advertise the Ghanaian brand of football that captured the imagination of the world."
"Winning the Golden Boot as well as the Adidas Bronze Ball (third best player) epitomizes your valiant display of soccer artistry."
"We encourage you to remain focused and dedicated to your career. In a related development, the Normalization Committee commends the entire Black Maidens team for reaching the quarter final stage of the FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup."
"Getting to the quarter final stage of a prestigious competition like the world cup is no mean feat. You did the nation proud, and we say ayekoo! The Government and the good people of Ghana are very much appreciative of your achievement," a statement by Dan Kwaku Yeboah (Spokesperson, GFA Normalization Committee) read.
