Elvis Chipezeze continued his inspired form in goal for Baroka FC as they held defending Absa Premiership champions Mamelodi Sundowns to a goalless draw at the Lucas Moripe Stadium in Atteridgeville on Tuesday evening.
The point moves Bakgaga up to 12th place on the log standings while Sundowns remain in third spot, five points behind Orlando Pirates.
Sundowns threatened early on through Hlompho Kekana in the third minute, but the Brazilians skipper was denied by Chipezeze, who carried on from where he left off on the weekend.
The hosts continued to probe, but found it increasingly difficult to beat Chipezeze, who made another good save in the 35th minute to deny Jeremy Brockie, whose rasping effort looked destined for the back of the net.
Baroka almost hit the front against the run of play on the cusp of half-time. Jemondre Dickens carved through the Sundowns defence before attempting a square ball to an unmarked Tebogo Sodi, but Maboe provided a timely interception to deny the visitors the lead at the break.
Chipezeze was proving a difficult man to beat once more and pulled off another excellent save five minutes into the second-half to keep out Brockie's arrowing header.
Baroka had a late chance to steal all three points in added time, but Mduduzi Mdantsane was desperately unlucky to see his glancing header fly inches wide of goal, as both sides eventually settled for a point apiece.
