Kaizer Chiefs will look to bounce back to winning form in the Absa Premiership when they host SuperSport United at Mbombela Stadium on 12 December 2018, kick-off at 19h30.
Chiefs suffered their fourth defeat of the season when they were beaten 2-1 at Golden Arrows on December 1. The Soweto giants have managed just one win in their last six league outings.
The Amakhosi have claimed just eight points from six home matches this season, with their last result as hosts a goalless draw with Chippa United in early November.
SuperSport also come into the game on the back of a defeat, having suffered a 2-1 reverse at the hands of Mamelodi Sundowns on December 2. The result was the Tshwane side’s third loss of the season and a first at home.
Matsatsatsa have claimed nine points from seven away matches this season, with their last result on the road a goalless draw at Bloemfontein Celtic in late November.
In head-to-head stats, SuperSport and Chiefs have met in 55 league matches since 1990. Matsatsantsa have claimed 20 wins compared to 19 for Amakhosi, while 16 matches have been drawn. The Soweto side has won 11 of their 28 home matches in the rivalry, suffering 12 defeats in the process.
Last season SuperSport took four points off Chiefs in the teams’ two league meetings. Matsatsantsa won 2-1 in Soweto in the first half of the campaign (with goals from Aubrey Modiba and Bradley Grobler) before playing out a goalless draw in the return game.
