Hakimi wins Rookie of the Month accolade

Borussia Dortmund defender Achraf Hakimi has been named as the Bundesliga Rookie of the Month for November.

It is the second time in succession that the 20-year-old won the award, having been awarded the accolade in October as well.

Hakimi, who is on-loan at the German Bundesliga club from Real Madrid, beat off competition from Fortuna Dusseldorf midfielder Dodi Lukebakio and Mainz 05 forward Jean-Philippe Mateta.

The 20-year-old has played a key role in Dortmund's unbeaten start to the league season, filling in at both left and right-back.

Dortmund currently sit seven points clear of their closest rivals following 14 rounds of league fixtures.

Hakimi has played 14 times for Dortmund across all competitions, chipping in with a goal and six assists.

Fellow Moroccan international Noussair Mazraoui has clinched successive Rookie of the Month awards for Ajax Amsterdam in the Dutch Eredivisie.
