Ivory Coast international Yaya Toure has officially parted company with Olympiacos, the club announced.

The 35-year-old re-joined the Greek giants on a free from Manchester City following the expiry of his contract, bringing an end to an eight-year stay at the club where he lifted three English Premier League tittles.

Toure managed a mere five appearances for Olympiacos with his last game for the club coming in a 5-1 win over Dudelange in the UEFA Europa League last month.

"Olympiacos FC and Yaya Toure would like to announce to the fans that they have mutually agreed to end their co-operation," an official statement on Olympiacos' website read.

"Yaya is and remains an important member of the Olympiacos family, who has marked a central part of the history of the club. Olympiacos would like to thank him for everything he has offered to the club.

"Yaya will remain deeply devoted to the club and wishes to Olympiacos lots of success. Yaya is leaving as a friend and the doors at Olympiacos will always be open for him. Our paths will surely cross again."
