Mamelodi Sundowns head coach Pitso Mosimane lamented his sides failure to find the back of the net in their goalless draw away to Al-Ahli Benghazi in the CAF Champions League on Sunday evening.
The Brazilians failed to find the back of the net for the second game in succession, but will be favourites nonetheless to advance in the competition despite the frustrating result at the Petro Sport Stadium in Cairo.
“I think we started very well. We just suffered from the usuals, not taking chances that we got," Mosimane is quoted as saying by KickOff.com.
"I think Lebo [Maboe] got a chance in the first half, in the first five minutes and the ball fell on his left foot and I think he could have done better to finish.
“We had few balls inside the box that we did not connect, but the most important balls came when we were on the edge of their box and we are trying to pass the ball to our strikers, but we are passing the ball too long or too short. Not precise passes to put the strikers through.
The Brazilians host the same opponents in South Africa's capital this coming weekend in what will be their final game of the calendar year.
“We are not unhappy with the performance, we are just unhappy with the result. I think we can do better and at home and I think we can seal it," Mosimane continued. "But the defence played well, to be honest. We were not really under threat. It’s just a good game that we controlled, but we did not kill the game.”
