‘Micho’ backing Bucs to beat African Stars

Orlando Pirates coach Milutin Sredojevic is confident his team will secure advancement into the CAF Champions League group stages.

The South African side will be away to Namibia’s African Stars on Saturday for the return leg of their first round tie. The first game in Soweto last weekend ended in a goalless stalemate.

The Buccaneers need a win or scoring draw to advance into the group stage for the first time 2013, and ‘Micho’ had faith they will get the job done.

“I would not stand in front of you if I don’t believe in the players,” the Serbian said.

“We are having to work all of us as a technical team, we are doing it with them. I have absolute confidence and belief and trust in our players in what we are doing.”

The Pirates coach has focused on improving their attacking play during training this week.

“We are looking to win the match or goals draw. It is something we are targeting. We believe in what we are doing and we believe in the players we have,” he explained.

“We believe that we can pull up the socks and pull up the sleeves, work hard enough and conclude by getting good results that will help us go in the group stages of the Champions League.

“We need to prepare much better and are looking forward to playing a much better attacking game in Windhoek.”
