Nigeria international set to miss rest of the season
Nigeria international Ogenyi Onazi is set to miss the rest of the season after sustaining a ruptured Achilles while playing for Trabzonspor in the Turkish Super Lig on Sunday.
The 25-year-old has played a key role in the club's rise up the log standings, but now faces a lengthy spell on the sideless having been forced off the pitch in the 32nd minute of the club's 's 4-1 win over Rizespor.
"Unfortunately Onazi suffered a ruptured achilles tendon. His season may well be over," said Trabzonspor president Ahmet Ağaoğlu.
Onazi has scored two goals in 16 appearances for Trabzonspor this season, and has played an integral role in the club's good run of from.
Trabzonspor are currently on a five-game unbeaten streak and sit in second spot on the log standings, six points behind the leaders.
Onazi will be hoping to return to fitness in time to be considered for Gernot Rohr's Super Eagles squad that will take part in the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations.
