Mamelodi Sundowns head coach Pitso Mosimane has confirmed that George Lebese will leave the club in the January transfer window.
The former Kaizer Chiefs winger has struggled for game time since his move to Chloorkop in August last year, and has yet to feature for the defending league champions this season.
In total, the 29-year-old has scored two goals in 16 appearances for Sundowns since his switch from Naturena. Lebese has been linked with a move to either Bidvest Wits or Cape Town City in the new year.
“He has been struggling to get into the team, it's a fact guys. What I like [about] George, he tried. He is the guy who is not casual. He tried, he lost 6kg,” said Mosimane as quoted by KickOff.com.
“It’s difficult to get to the team. Look at Anthony [Laffor], he is not playing but when he comes in, he gets switched on anytime. So when you come in, you have to switch it on so that we don't forget you.
“It's been tough for George. I like him as a person. Besides football I like him, he is a nice person, he doesn't cause problems. It didn't work out. I respect and understand [his decision] because he wants to move on. We don't want to kill his career,” he concluded.
