Al Ahly have confirmed the signing of Hussein El-Shahat from Al Ain for a club-record fee of $5 million.
The Red Devils have continued to strengthen their squad as they eye a return to the summit of the African continent, with El-Shahat's arrival following that of Mohamed Mahmoud, Geraldo, and Mahmoud Wahid and most notable Ramadan Sobhi.
El-Shahat joins the Egyptian giants amid plenty of interest from around the Arabian Gulf and Europe. He has put pen-to-paper on a long-term contract.
The 26-year-old scored 15 goals, providing a further 17 assists in 33 games across all competitions for Al Ain.
He joined the United Arab Emirates giants from Egyptian club Misr El-Makassa last January, initially on loan before making the move permanent.
El-Shahat formed an integral part of the club that reached the 2018 FIFA Club World Cup final last year, eventually losing to European champions Real Madrid in the showpiece.
