Morocco international Khalid Boutaïb has joined Egyptian giants Zamalek from Turkish club Yeni Malatyaspor.

The 31-year-old has penned a three-and-a-half year deal at the club, having joined on an undisclosed fee. Reports suggest the White Knights paid upward of £1.5 million to secure the forward's services.

"I'm happy to join Zamalek and wear the white shirt and I will do my best to make the fans and board happy," Boutaïb is quoted as saying by BBC Sport on his arrival at the club.

Club chairman Mansour Mortada added as per the club's official website: "We watched Boutaïb with the Morocco national team and he impressed us so we decided to sign him."

The lanky forward scored 17 goals in 51 matches for Malatyaspor, including five in 18 games across all competitions this season. He has eight goals in 20 appearances for the Atlas Lions.
