Cape Town City will chase a hat-trick of Absa Premiership wins when they host Baroka FC at Cape Town Stadium on 12 January 2019, kick-off at 20h15.
City picked up a second straight win (and a fifth from their last seven league matches) when they defeated SuperSport United 1-0 away on January 5, thanks to a late goal from Gift Links.
The Citizens have claimed 13 points from seven home matches this season, with their latest result as hosts a thrilling 3-2 win over Bloemfontein Celtic just before the festive-season break last month.
Baroka suffered their eighth defeat of the season when they were beaten 2-1 at home by Limpopo rivals Black Leopards on January 6.
Bakgaga have claimed seven points from eight away matches this season, with their last result on the road a 1-0 win at Maritzburg United on December 22.
In head-to-head stats, Baroka and City have met in five league matches since 2016/17. Bakgaga have claimed three wins compared to one for the Citizens, while one game has been drawn. The Cape side has recorded one draw and one loss from their two home matches in the rivalry.
When the teams met earlier this season, Baroka claimed a 2-1 home win thanks to goals from Mpho Kgaswane and Matome Kgoetyane. Bakgaga will be chasing a hat-trick of wins over the Citizens.
City’s line-up from their 1-0 win over SuperSport on January 5: Stephens, Mngonyama, Fielies, Edmilson (Mkhize 65’), Seedat, Links, Putsche, Mokeke, Ralani (Martin 54’), Mthembu (Patosi 67’), Erasmus.
