Bloemfontein Celtic and Golden Arrows played out to a 1-1 stalemate in an Absa Premiership clash at Dr Molemela Stadium on Sunday afternoon.

The result moves Siwelele up to fifth place on the log standings, eight points behind log leaders Bidvest Wits. Arrows remain in 10th place, eight points above the relegation zone.

Siwelele hit the front in the 43rd minute through Kabelo Dlamini to give the hosts a narrow lead at the break.

Having found a narrow gap in the Arrows defence, Dlamini took full advantage before firing a crisp shot past the visiting shot-stopper on the stroke of half-time.

Abafana Bes’thende levelled matters in the 64th minute through Knox Mutizwa who added another great goal to his impressive catalogue.

The Zimbabwean forward bending an inch-perfect free-kick past the outstretched Patrick Tignyemb in the Phunya Sele Sele goal.

Spurred on by former Celtic coach Steve Komphela, Arrows surged forward in the closing stages as they went in search of a rare win in the Free State province, but it was not to be as the two teams ultimately settled for a point apiece.
