Ghana international Kevin Prince Boateng has been linked with a shock move to Spanish LaLiga leaders FC Barcelona.
The Catalan club have been linked with a host of strikers following Munir El-Haddadi's move to Sevilla this month with Carlos Vela, Javier Hernandez and Alvaro Morata having been all tipped with a move to the Camp Nou.
According to Sky Italia, the 31-year-old will complete an 'expensive' loan move to Barcelona this week. The league holders will have an option to buy the player at the end of the season according to the same report.
Boateng has scored five goals in 15 matches across all competitions for Sassuolo since his move from Eintracht Frankfurt in July last year.
The former Tottenham Hotspur, AC Milan and Schalke utility player is no stranger to the Spanish to-flight having contributed directly to 15 goals in 29 games for Las Palmas in the 2016-17 season.
Boateng, who has been capped 15 times by the Black Stars, last played for the West African nation at the 2014 FIFA World Cup in Brazil.
