A 90th minute goal from the Nigerian hand Mouscron a 2-1 win over Genk on Saturday night.
Senegalese international M'Baye Leye opened the scoring for Mouscron in the 17th minute from the penalty spot before Sebastian Dewaest equalised for Genk in the 73rd minute.
Awoniyi was the hero on the day for the away side with the winning goal in injury time which sees Mouscron move up to 12th on the table while Genk still top the standings with 51 points, nine clear of Antwerp in second.
