Paris Saint-Germain have upped their pursuit of Senegal international Idrissa Gana Gueye.
According to reports, the French champions made a £22 million bid for the the 29-year-old this past weekend. Everton have since rejected the offer and reiterated that Gueye is not for sale.
PSG, though, are expected to make an improved offer for the midfielder before the transfer window shuts close as they aim to bolster their squad before the Uefa Champions League Round of 16.
Gueye joined the Toffees following Aston Villa's relegation to the Championship three years ago, going on to cement his place as an integral part of the team at Goodison Park.
Consistently top of the tackling and ball retrieving charts, Gueye is one of the best deep-lying midfielders in the division.
The former Lille-man has made 94 appearances for Everton, including 21 across all competitions for the Merseyside club this season. He has been capped 62 times by Senegal at international level.
