The agent of Borussia Dortmund’s Moroccan defender Achraf Hakimi insists that a return to Real Madrid remains the long-term plan for his client.
The Atlas Lions player has enjoyed career-best form this season on-loan at Dortmund, including his first two goals for the club this past weekend, and has talked up the prospect of remaining at BVB permanently.
However, his agent Martin Camano told German publication BILD: "It's no secret that he feels completely at home in Dortmund.
"He can also imagine staying longer in Dortmund. But that will only be decided in the future.
"It was agreed originally, we must assume that Achraf must return to Real Madrid after the completion of his loan activity."
Former Dortmund player Sebastian Kehl, who is now the head of player licensing at the club, agrees that keeping the 20-year-old will be tough.
"Unfortunately, we only loaned him for two years and it's going to be difficult to sign him [permanently]," Kehl told Sport1. "Real Madrid are also following his development."
Hakimi has racked up two goals and seven assists in 19 appearances across all competitions for Dortmund this season.
