Abdul Baba Rahman has joined French Ligue 1 outfit Reims on-loan for the remainder of the season, Chelsea have confirmed.

The 24-year-old joined the Blues from German Bundesliga club Augsburg in 2015, making his debut in a 4-0 win over Maccabi Tel Aviv in the UEFA Champions League. He has featured a mere 23 times for his parent club.

Rahman first joined Schalke on a season-long loan deal in the 2016-17 season, but serious injury while on national duty with Ghana hampered his stay.

The left-back duly returned to the Royal Blues on-loan once more for the second part of the previous campaign, before a third spell on-loan for the first half of this season.

Rahman, though, struggled for game time at the Veltins-Arena this season, making a mere four appearances across all competitions.

Reims currently occupy ninth spot on the French Ligue 1 standings.

Rahman has been capped nine times by the Black Stars.
