Waleed Hamid scored the only goal of the game in a 1-0 Caf Confederations Cup win for Al-Hilal Omdurman over Asante Kotoko at Al-Hilal Stadium on Sunday evening.

Victory moves the Sudanese club level on points with ZESCO United who beat Zambian counterparts Nkana 2-0 at the same time, in Ndola.

Hamid found the back of the net in the 40th minute the clash. The forward was quickest to react from a ball headed into a dangerous area by Nasreldin Abdalla following a looping cross - Hamid on hand to prod home from close range.

The Porcupines improved following the interval as they went in search of something to take home to Ghana, but the Blue Wave held firm to claim all three points.

Next up for Al-Hilal is a trip to Kitwe to take on Nkana while Asante will play host to Team Ya Ziko in Kumasi in 10 days time.
