NA Hussein held on to claim all three points with a narrow 2-1 win over Petro de Luanda in a Group D Caf Confederations Cup clash at Stade du 5 Juillet 1962 in Algiers on Sunday evening.

Victory moves the Algerians level on points whith Gor Mahia after one round of group stage fixtures. The Kenyan champions romped to a surprise 4-2 win over Zamalek in Nairobi earlier today.

Blood and Gold hit the front in the 19th minute of the clash through 19-year-old defender Mohamed Tougai.

The hosts duly doubled their lead seven minutes after the break through Walid Allati who's strike looked to have set up the hosts for a straightforward victory.

Os Tricolores, though, to their credit never gave up, and halved the deficit after Tiago Azulão teed up Vladimiro 'Va' Felix in the 76th minute.

The visitors finished the game the stronger of the two teams, but were unable to find the back of the net once more as the hosts ultimately held on for all three points.

Next up for NA Hussein is a clash away to North African rivals Zamalek while Petro play host to Gor Mahia in Luanda in 10 days time.
