Mamelodi Sundowns coach Pitso Mosimane has praised new signing Emiliano Tade after he made an immediate impact for the club.
The 30-year-old Argentine signed for ‘Downs before the close of the January transfer window last week, joining from fellow Absa Premiership side AmaZulu.
Tade made his debut in the Brazilians’ CAF Champions League clash at home to Ivorian club ASEC Mimosas on Friday night and netted the final goal in a 3-1 victory.
Mosimane was delighted with Tade’s showing, but admits that trying to fit him into the team poses something of a selection headache.
“The biggest challenge for me is where to play him because he is not a winger. He is not a No.9. He is a No.10, and Gaston Sirino is playing really well as a No.10 for us,” explained the Sundowns boss.
He added, “He comes with a lot of experience and a lot of goals. The most important aspect is to fit in the team.”
Yet it was Tade’s composure in front of goal which really made ‘Jingles’ sit up and take notice.
“You can’t ask for more from Emiliano. Ten minutes on the pitch and he looks like he has been playing for Sundowns for long, never mind the goal,” continued Mosimane.
“He is composed and he knows how to play football. He is a typical South American. What a way of introducing yourself to the team!”
Tade will hope to net his first domestic goal in the colours of Sundowns when they host Black Leopards for a league clash on Wednesday evening.
