Esperance head coach Mouine Chaabani has labelled Orlando Pirates as one of the best club's on the African continent.
The defending Caf Champions League champions were lucky to walk away with a point at Orlando Stadium on Saturday evening, having underwhelmed as the two teams eventually played out a 0-0 draw.
The Buccaneers dominated most of the match, but were unable to put the game to bed. Pirates, though, continue to top Group B after three rounds of fixtures, having accumulated five points from their allotted matches, same amount as Esperance.
“Orlando Pirates is amongst one of the best teams in Africa – ss we’ve mentioned before, they previously beat us in Tunis [in 2013 Champions League semi-final],” said Chaabani.
“Considering that it has been a tough week for us, and the fact that our last game was a cup game in which we played 120 minutes, so we’ll take the point away from home.
“I think this was an open game. Anybody could have won it, we could have scored just as we could have also conceded.”
The two teams will do battle once more in a week's time, with the reverse fixture set to take place in Tunis next Tuesday.
