Enugu Rangers defender Isaac Loute says he will chip in with more goals for the Nigerian team in their CAF Confederation Cup campaign.

Loute scored in Rangers’ 2-0 win over Burkina Faso’s Salitas this past weekend, getting the ‘Flying Antelopes’ off to a great start in Group B of the continental competition.

Speaking to Nigeria’s Daily Trust, the former Kano Pillars, Heartland FC and FC Ifeanyi Ubah player said he was excited by his first goal in the Confederation Cup, and dedicated it to his children because they are a source of inspiration.

"I am really excited by my first goal in the Confederation Cup. I am also happy that we were able to take the maximum points,” explained Loute.

"I dedicate the goal to my twins. They inspire me a lot. Whenever I think about them, I am inspired to do more.

"I am not going to rest on my oars. I will work harder to see if I would score more goals for my team," he said.

Loute also said with the victory over Salitas, Rangers would face their other group opponents with more confidence.

"The win is important because it has boosted our confidence. We shall be more confident going into the other group matches," he added.

Rangers’ second group phase match will be away to CS Sfaxien next Wednesday evening.
