American club side Houston Dash have confirmed that South African duo Thembi Kgatlana and Linda Motlhalo have left the club.

Kgatlana and Motlhalo joined the Texas-club in February last year.

“We are grateful for everything Linda and Thembi have given the club," Dash head coach James Clarkson is quoted as saying in a press release.

"We wish them best as they begin the next chapter of their career. We would have loved to have them join us in 2019, but we understand the complexities of the global game and the interest in players like Linda or Thembi.

“This now gives us roster flexibility, including an open international spot as we continue to build the 2019 Houston Dash.”

African Women's Player of the Year, Kgatlana, scored two goals and assisted a further three in her lone season with the club. Motlhalo scored a goal and registered an assist in 21 appearances for the Dash.

It is not yet clear what the duo's next move will be with Kgatlana especially not to be short of possible suitors.
