Baroka FC will be out to claim the scalp of Bloemfontein Celtic when the teams meet in an Absa Premiership match at Peter Mokaba Stadium on 10 February 2019, kick-off at 15h30.
Baroka played to a third successive draw – and extended their winless run to four matches – with a 1-1 stalemate at home to Chippa United. The Limpopo side would have wanted to pick up all three points against a fellow relegation battler.
Bakgaga have claimed eight points from nine home matches this season. Their only win as hosts arrived in August 2018 when they defeated Cape Town City 2-1.
Celtic claimed just a second win from their last nine league matches when they defeated Black Leopards 3-0 at home on February 3. Ronald Pfumbidzai and Victor Letsoalo (two) shared the goals for the Bloemfontein side.
Phunya Sele Sele have claimed 13 points from nine away matches this season, with their last result on the road a 2-1 loss at SuperSport United on January 20.
In head-to-head stats, Celtic and Baroka have met in five league matches since 2016/17. Phunya Sele Sele have claimed two wins compared to one for Bakgaga, while two games have been drawn. The Limpopo side has drawn both of their two home matches in the rivalry.
When the teams met earlier this season, at Dr Molemela Stadium in late October 2018, Celtic claimed a 1-0 home win thanks to a late goal from defender Ronald Pfumbidzai.
Baroka’s line-up from their 1-1 draw with Chippa on February 3: Chipezeze, Makume, Mongae, Mabeba, Chinyegetere (Sodi 53’), Makgaka, Sibiya, Semenya, Chivariro (Dickens 68’), Mdantsane.
Celtic’s line-up from their 3-0 win over Leopards on February 3: Tignyemb, Tani, Letlabika, Rikhotso, Pfumbidzai, Maema (Potsane 59’), Phalane, Mashikinya, Baloyi, Dlamini (Masuku 65’), Mabaso (Letsoalo 74’).
