Egyptian Premier League side ENPPI has filed a complaint against match referee Mohamed El-Sabahy.
According to King Fut, the Petroleum Club has demanded a replay after seeing a last-minute equaliser ruled out in a league game which Al Ahly won 2-1 on Tuesday.
El-Sabahy sent off Ahmed Refaat after showing him two yellow cards in less than a minute, before ruling out a last-minute equaliser for an offside.
“We have decided to file a complaint against Mohamed El-Sabahy and we also demand a game replay due to the controversial refereeing decisions,” ENPPI director of football Abdel-Nasser Mohamed said.
“Refaat did not make any mistake and assistant referee Sherif Abdallah was not positioned correctly when he ruled out the goal for offside.
“The referee has ruled out a valid goal for us and Al Ahly’s first goal should not have stood because of a handball by Gerlado,” he added.
Al Ahly and ENPPI are placed third, and 16th respectively on the league standings.
