Club Africain held TP Mazembe to a 0-0 draw in the CAF Champions League Group C match at the Stade Olympique de Rades in Tunisia on Tuesday.
The result saw Tunisia's Africain remain third on the Group C standings, while DR Congolese giants Mazembe also remained second on the table.
Mazembe began the match brightly, with experienced attacker Tresor Mputu Mabi looking lively for the five-time Champions League winners.
However, the hosts, who won the 1991 Champions League, were able to contain the former CAF Player of the Year based in Africa, Mputu.
Africain also pushed forward in numbers as they searched for the opening goal, with Burkina Faso striker Bassirou Compaore spearheading their attack.
However, they could not beat Ibrahim Mounkoro, who had replaced the suspended shot-stopper Sylvain Gbohouo in Mazembe goal.
The score was 0-0 at half-time between Africain and Mazembe.
The home side made the first change of the game 14 minutes into the second-half.
Ghanaian striker Derrick Sasraku, who was once on the books of Aduana Stars, replaced Compaore as the home side looked to break the deadlock.
Mazembe coach Kazembe Mihayo responded by introducing Chico Ushindi as the two teams searched for a late winning goal .
Both teams launched attacks in the dying minutes of the match, but they could not score and ultimately, Africain and Mazembe drew 0-0 on the day.
