Mamelodi Sundowns were held to a goalless stalemate away to ASEC Mimosas at Stade Félix Houphouët-Boigny in a Caf Champions League Group A clash on Tuesday.
Both teams struggled to find any real rhythm on a bumpy pitch in Abidjan with Sundowns having notable failed to register a single shot on target throughout the 90 minutes.
The result moves the Brazilians up to seven points atop the group standings, one more than Wydad Casablanca who play host to Lobi Stars later this evening.
Sundowns best chance of the match fell to the in-form Themba Zwane in the 58th minute. Following a swift break by Lebohang Maboe, Emiliano Tade teed up Zwane who could only succeed in blazing his shot over the crossbar.
ASEC duly registered a shot on target seven minutes later as Ahmed Toure nodded the ball straight into Denis Onyango's grateful arms.
In the end, the both teams settled for a point apiece on a frustrating afternoon of football for both sets of players.
Sundowns next face Lobi Stars in South Africa's capital next month while ASEC play host to Wydad on matchday five.
