Al Ahly coach Martin Lasarte has hailed his side’s efforts in claiming a sixth straight league win this past weekend.

The Red Devils edged El Entag El Harby 1-0 away from home on Saturday evening in Cairo, with Amr Al Sulaya netting the decisive goal early in the second half. The hosts also had Mahmoud Hamada sent off.

The result ensured Ahly remain on the fringes of the title race in the Egyptian Premier League, which is currently led by their arch rivals Zamalek.

The victory also came in response to a surprise 1-0 loss away to Simba SC in the CAF Champions League last Tuesday.

"The result is a fair one despite the fact that we were able to score other goals as we dominated the game and reached our opponents goal on several occasions," Lasarte said in the press conference after the match.

"We must work to solve the problem of missed scoring chances and raising our scoring ratio," the Uruguayan tactician added.

Ahly will return to Premier League action on Wednesday night when they face El Daklyeh at home, while their next Champions League assignment is away to DR Congo giants AS Vita on March 9.
