Stoke City veteran Charlie Adam has praised Nigerian midfielder Oghenekaro Etebo for the impact he has had at the EFL Championship club this season.
Etebo joined the Potters from Portuguese club Feirense midway through last year, having impressed while representing the Super Eagles at the 2018 World Cup.
The 23-year-old has appeared in 26 matches across all competitions for Stoke this season and has caught the eye with his dynamism and energy in the middle of the park.
“Etebo has been excellent since he came in and it’s good to see his getting a run of games and playing at a level we know he’s capable of – and we know he can do more as well,” Adam told the Stoke Sentinel.
“We have to try to win as many games from now until the end of the season because of the support we continue to get at home and away. It’s been a difficult couple of years.”
The Potters are currently placed 17th on the Championship log – well clear of the relegation zone, but also with little hope of climbing up the table to challenge for promotion.
Etebo will hope to feature for Stoke when they return to Championship action this coming weekend, with a home match against Aston Villa at the Bet365 Stadium.
