ZESCO United were held to a 1-1 draw by Al-Hilal Omdurman in a Caf Confederations Cup Group C clash at Levy Mwanawasa Stadium in Ndola on Sunday evening.
The visitors were reduced to 10-men just short of the half-time break as Idriss Mbombo received his marching orders.
Despite the man disadvantage, the Blue Wave pulled ahead through Nasreldin Abdalla's 66th minute strike. The midfielder making no mistake after being teed up by Samawal Merghani.
Team Ya Ziko restored parity six minutes later as Lazarous Kambole latched onto a pass from Jesse Were to score for the second CAFCC home game in succession.
The hosts looked the more likely to walk away with all three points as they cranked up the pressure in the closing stages, but the Sudanese visitors' defence held firm as they conjured a hard fought point on their travels.
The result leaves both teams locked on four points apiece after three rounds of fixtures, two points behind Nkana. Al-Hilal will play host to ZESCO in the reverse fixture in Omdurman on the 3rd of March.
