Mamelodi Sundowns are sweating on the availability of Denis Onyango ahead of tonight's Absa Premiership clash at Loftus Versfeld Stadium against Cape Town City.

The Uganda international was forced off the field in Sundowns 1-1 draw away to Bidvest Wits this past weekend with an injury and is a doubt for the midweek collision with the Citizens.

The 33-year-old has struggled with injury throughout the campaign and missed the Brazilians 3-0 win over Black Leopards earlier this month with a reported shoulder injury.

Onyango penned a new four-and-a-half year deal with Sundowns this week. The shot-stopper joined the Chloorkop-based club from Mpumalanga Black Aces in 2011.

Sundowns currently occupy third place on the Absa Premiership log standings, three points above City and two behind league leaders Bidvest Wits.

Onyango has kept eight clean sheets in 18 matches across all competitions this season.
