Kaizer Chiefs will target a return to winning form in the Absa Premiership when they host Highlands Park at Moses Mabhida Stadium on 2 March 2019, kick-off at 18h00.
Chiefs have gone three league matches without a victory after they were held 1-1 at Polokwane City on February 23. They have scored just twice in that sequence, with both goals netted by Daniel Cardoso from the penalty spot.
The Amakhosi have claimed just 12 points from 10 home matches this season, with their last result as hosts a 1-1 draw with Orlando Pirates on February 9.
Highlands played to their 11th draw of the season when they held Black Leopards 0-0 away on February 24. The Makhulong-based team has won just once in their last seven league outings.
The Lions of the North have claimed 10 points from 11 away matches this season, and they have yet to win on the road in 2019.
In head-to-head stats, Chiefs and Highlands have met in three league matches since the 2016/17 season. The Amakhosi are unbeaten, having completed a league ‘double’ over the Lions of the North in 16/17, while the teams’ meeting earlier this season ended in a goalless stalemate.
Chiefs’ line-up from their 1-1 draw at Polokwane on February 23: Akpeyi, Moleko, Hadebe, Cardoso, Ntyiya-Ntiya (Moon 82'), Ntshangase, Maluleka, Ekstein (Zuma 46'), Zulu (Mphahlele 56'), Parker, Billiat.
Highlands’ line-up from their 0-0 draw with Leopards on February 24: Heugh, L. Mokoena, Fransman, Rae (Nyembe 85’), Ramoraka, Mvala, Mbunjana (Mbatha 65’), Motsepe (Haoseb 78’), Mahlangu, Shalulile, Mogaila.
