Salah's struggles continue as Liverpool fall behind

Mohamed Salah failed to find the back of the net for the third successive English Premier League encounter as Liverpool fell behind Manchester City on the log standings this past weekend.

The 26-year-old has struggled for for form of late and despite the club being unbeaten in their last six encounters in the league, Salah has only managed to find the back of the net on one occasions during this period.

Salah squandered two golden chances in the Reds 0-0 draw away to Everton this past weekend as Jurgen Klopp's usually free-scoring outfit were held to a second successive goalless stalemate on their travels.

"It's very rare that he goes through a run like this," said Jamie Carragher in the Sky Sports commentary box. "There's no doubt that in the last few weeks his touch and his play outside the box hasn't been the quality that you would expect."

Salah has scored 17 goals in 28 appearances for Liverpool this season and while his strike rate has been good, his conversion rate against the big six clubs has been poor this season.

The former Chelsea attacker has scored just once against a big six clubs this season: a penalty against Arsenal late last year and with matches against Tottenham Hotspur and the Blues to follow, this will come as a huge concern for Klopp.
