Zambian sides Nkana FC and Zesco United will be fighting for their lives in the CAF Confederation Cup when they meet for a Group C clash at the Nkana Stadium in Kitwe on Sunday, 10 March 2019, kick-off at 15h00 CAT.

Nkana come into the game placed third on the log on six points (level with second-placed Asante Kotoko of Ghana) after two wins and two draws.

‘The Reds’ were looking strong in the pool ahead of last weekend, but a 3-0 thumping in Kumasi at the hands of Asante has left them facing the prospect of early elimination.

That fate could also befall their compatriots Zesco, who are placed last on the Group C log with four points, having won just once in their four outings thus far.

‘Team Ya Ziko’ did themselves no favours by falling to a 3-1 defeat away to Sudanese giants Al Hilal on March 3. Lazarous Kambole’s consolation goal was the only bright spot for the Ndola-based team.

Both Zambian sides will be hoping for a draw in the other Group C game between Asante and Hilal which will be played simultaneously in Kumasi.

Nkana will be seeking revenge for the 2-0 defeat they suffered at the hands of Zesco when the teams meet in Ndola in early February on Matchday 1. John Ching’andu and Kambole netted for ‘Team Ya Ziko’ as they took home the bragging rights in the derby.

Egyptian referee Mohamed Adel will take charge of the game in Kitwe. CLICK HERE TO VISIT AFRICAN FOOTBALL ZAMBIA
