Polokwane City beat Golden Arrows 2-0 at the Peter Mokaba Stadium in Polokwane to move up to fifth place on the Absa Premiership log standings.
Goals from Mohammed Anas and Charlton Mashumba extending Rise and Shine's unbeaten run in the league to five matches, as they continue their title charge.
The hosts opened the scoring in the 13th minute through Anas. The Ghanaian pouncing on a loose ball outside the area, before firing an unstoppable shot into he bottom left corner for his fourth goal in three matches.
Abafana Bes’thende squandered two chances in quick succession to pull level after the break before Mashumba doubled the hosts lead.
The Zimbabwean profiting from a cushion header from Bongile Booi who rose highest from a corner-kick, poking home from close range two minutes after coming off the bench.
Rise and Shine held onto their lead to build on what has been an impressive run of form for the Limpopo club, who were many people's early pick for relegation candidates.
