Somila Ntsundwana inspired AmaZulu to a 2-0 win over Absa Premiership title chasing Bidvest Wits at King Zwelithini Stadium in Umlazi on Saturday.
Usuthu scored two second-half goals through Bongi Ntuli and Ovidy Karuru, while the Clever Boys had captain Thulani Hlatshwayo sent off late in the second half on a rainy evening in the KwaZulu-Natal province.
Following a goalless opening stanza, in which Ntuli squandered a golden chance to give the hosts the lead, AmaZulu deservedly opened the scoring three minutes after the break.
Ntsundwana broke free on goal before teeing up the burly forward who converted from close range, with Darren Keet helpless in the Wits goal.
AmaZulu doubled their lead in the 81st minute. Ntsundwana bamboozled Robyn Johannes before slipping the ball to Karuru who made no mistake to double the hosts lead.
Hlatshwayo received his marching orders soon after following a second bookable offence on a gloomy night for he visitors who have dropped eight points in their last three matches.
