TP Mazembe brushed aside CS Constantine 2-0 in the 2018/19 CAF Champions League Group C match at the Stade TP Mazembe on Saturday afternoon.
The win saw DR Congolese side Mazembe progress to the quarter-finals as the Group C winners, while Algeria outfit Constantine also qualified as runners-up.
Mazembe were seeking revenge against Constantine, who had thrashed them 3-0 in Algeria on match-day two.
The Ravens dominated the opening stages of the encounter and they were awarded a penalty 13 minutes into the encounter.
Jackson Muleka then stepped up and hit the back of the net to make it 1-0 to Mazembe much to the delight of the home crowd inside the stadium.
Constantine pushed for the equalizing goal, but Mazembe held onto their lead and the hosts were leading 1-0 at the interval.
The hosts continued to attack after the restart with Muleka keeping the visitors' defence busy with his clever movement.
The attacker was involved as Mazembe doubled their lead in the 67th minute as he grabbed an assist when Tresor Mputu Mabi scored to make it 2-0.
Mazembe then held onto their two-goal in the closing stages of the match and ultmately, they emerged 2-0 winners over Constantine.
