Good evening and welcome to
AfricanFootball.com's LIVE PBP coverage of the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier between Ghana and Kenya at Accra Sports Stadium on Saturday, 23 March 2019.
AS IT HAPPENED UPDATES:
FT: Ghana 1-0 Kenya
The Black Stars advance as Group F winners!
90' - Three minutes added by the referee.
82' - GOAL! Caleb Ekuban with the opener out of nothing. The Leeds United-man let the ball run past him before chasing after it and firing a left-footed drive past the Kenyan goalkeeper.
80' - Entering the final exchanges in Accra. Still goalless, with neither side having yet to really light up the encounter.
68' - Matasi (Kenya) goes into the referee's book for time wasting of all things.
60' - Hour played. Been all Ghana since Juma's early chance in the second-half. The Black Stars ramping up the pressure in search of the opener.
57' - Otieno (Kenya) is the first man into the referee's book.
48' Chance! Kenya's first shot in anger falls to Juma who tests Ofori with a stinging effort from an acute angle.
46' - The second half is underway in Accra.
HT: Ghana 0-0 Kenya
45' - Three minutes of additional time added by the referee.
43' - Close! Another chance for Andre Ayew following a devilish cross from Atsu once more, but the Turkey-based forward fails to convert from close range.
33' - Goal... No! Andre Ayew converts after Matasi spills the attackers' initial effort, but the referee's whistle had gone for a foul on the goalkeeper. Goal should have stood, though having looked at the highlights.
30' - Half-hour played in Accra and still nothing to write home about. Evenly matched game thus far.
22' - Chance! Matasi does well to punch Atsu's wicked cross from danger with Andre Ayew lurking - Thomas Partey then fails to hit the target with the follow up effort.
18' - Kenya have forced their way back into the tie and have a chance from a corner-kick... ball whipped in, but it's too easy for Ghana who clear their lines.
9' - Chance! Following a sustained spell of pressure from the hosts, they win a free-kick in a promising position. Atletico Madrid's Thomas Partey steps up, but he can only succeed in guiding his attempt over the crossbar.
1'- Kick-off in Accra!
