Zamalek coach Christian Gross says he wants the team to continue their CAF Confederation Cup journey, as they gear up to host Hassania Agadir in the second leg of their quarterfinal this coming weekend.
The first leg on Sunday 7 April ended in a goalless stalemate, setting up the White Knights as the favourites to advance into the semifinals.
“We performed very well during the 90 minutes. Our way of playing suited the game,” Gross said in the wake of the game.
“We weren’t playing as defensively as some people are saying.
“We played in a very nice atmosphere, in front of a big amount of supporters for the first time. There is a big game awaiting us in Cairo.
“Our goal in the second leg is very clear, which is to grab the win to continue our journey in the Confederation Cup,” he added.
The second leg will be hosted at the Petro Sport Stadium in Cairo on Sunday 14 April. The aggregate winners will advance to face either Sudan’s Al Hilal or Tunisia’s Etoile du Sahel in the semifinals.
