SuperSport United will look to end Polokwane City’s strong run in the Absa Premiership when the teams meet at Lucas Moripe Stadium on 13 April 2019, kick-off at 20h15.

SuperSport played to their first draw of the year 2019 when they were held 1-1 at home by Kaizer Chiefs on March 15. Mxolisi Machupu’s early goal was cancelled out by the Amakhosi’s Khama Billiat.

Matsatsantsa have claimed 23 points from 12 home league matches this season, recording seven wins, two draws and three defeats.

Polokwane extended their unbeaten run to seven league matches with a 3-1 home win over Limpopo rivals Black Leopards on April 7, featuring goals from Puleng Tlolane, Mpho Mvelase and Mohammed Anas.

Rise and Shine have claimed 18 points from 12 away matches this season, with their last result on the road a goalless draw at Cape Town City in mid-March.

In head-to-head stats, SuperSport and Polokwane have met in 11 league matches since 2013/14. Matsatsantsa have claimed four wins compared to two for Rise and Shine, while five matches have been drawn. The Tshwane side has an unbeaten home record in the rivalry, with two wins and three draws from five turns as hosts.

When the teams met earlier this season, at the Old Peter Mokaba Stadium in October 2018, they played to a 1-1 draw, with early goals from Ayanda Nkili and Aubrey Modiba.
