Ogunbote: Rangers want to remain at the summit of NPFL

Enugu Rangers head coach Gbenga Ogunbote says his side is looking to maintain its lead at the top of the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) standings Group A.

The Flying Antelopes secured a 2-1 win over Kwara United in an NPFL match which took place at the Ilorin Township Stadium on Wednesday.

Rangers are hoping to qualify for one of next season's CAF club competitions as an NPFL representative.

“We are so pleased to have collected the three points away from home, that shot my team to the top of the log. It is hard work that brings the team this far," Ogunbote said on Football Live Nigeria.

"We are yet to achieve the objective of the season is to qualify for super six and from there pick one of the continental tickets for next season.

“We want to return back to the continents, as attention has been shifted to the league after our exist from continental football," he added.

"The team is yet to lose in the last ten matches which is good for our confidence going into any match.

“We want to remain at the summit of the league, since we are first on the log now," the former Gateway coach concluded.
