Liverpool fullback Andrew Robertson believes Mohamed Salah's thunderbolt against Chelsea 'shut up' racist supporters.
In build-up to the English Premier League showdown on Sunday, both club's condemned videos on social media which appeared to show several Blues fans chanting 'Salah is a bomber', reportedly in reference to the Egypt international.
The 26-year-old scored a superb solo effort to lead the Reds to a 2-0 victory at Anfield for his second goal in as many games. Last season's golden winner managed just one goal in nine prior outings before his strike against Southampton earlier this month.
"That's the way to shut them up," Reds left-back Robertson told Sky Sports News. "It's not nice but he dealt with it. It didn't affect him at all - it didn't look like it, did it?
"Sadly people are getting used to things like this now because it is happening far too often. Raheem Sterling said the other day that the only way to shut people like this up is to score goals and to beat them.
"It was a fantastic goal. He cut inside and as soon as he hit it, everyone knew it was in."
