Maela: 'Bafana Bafana are not scared of anyone'

Orlando Pirates and South African fullback Innocent Maela is confident of his country's chances at the upcoming 2019 Africa Cup of Nations in Egypt.

Bafana Bafana were drawn in a highly competitive Group D alongside Morocco, Ivory Coast and Southern African neighbours Namibia.

"It is a tough group, but I think it is very important to understand that Bafana Bafana as a group [of players] is in a very good space at this point in time, the belief is high," Maela said.

"I am confident that we will go there and do well, we are not scared of anyone.

"We know we have a good group of players."

South Africa kick-off their campaign against the Ivorian Elephants at Al Salam Stadium in Cairo on the 24th of June.
