Guinean champions Horoya AC announced that they have extend Khadim Ndiaye's contract by three years, this despite the goalkeeper suffering a double leg break on Saturday.

The 34-year-old is set to miss the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations in Egypt after suffering a horror injury in the club's defeat to Wydad Casablanca this past weekend.

Horoya crashed out of this season's Caf Champions League following a 5-0 loss away to the Moroccan club in the second-leg of their quarterfinal showdown. The reverse fixture in Conakry ended in a goalless stalemate.

The Senegal international played in all of Senegal's games at the 2018 Fifa World Cup in Russia, but will now sit out of the Teranga Lions pursuit of a first continental crown later this year.

According to BBC Sport, the club's owner Antonio Souare has also offered Ndiaye a role at the club as part of the technical staff in the future, while he will pay for his coaching courses in Europe.

Ndiaye, who's contract was set to expire this year, underwent surgery in Morocco where he will continue his recovery for the next few weeks.
